9. Finn Wittrock
The road for Finn Wittrock to climb out of his role of supporting television man and reach Hollywood is well worn. Evan Peters has already made a name for himself breaking out of American Horror Story, starring as Quicksilver in X-Men.
Sarah Paulson too, while she had a fairly successful career in any case, has moved up a few levels through AHS, while it provided a platform for Lady Gaga to showcase her talent before scoring the Oscar nomination for her lead in A Star Is Born.
He hasn’t starred in as many seasons as some, but he’s shown remarkable range in Horror Story. His Dandy Mott was drenched in creepiness yet still managed to be complex, while Hotel’s Tristan had an outward aggression with inner vulnerability.
These qualities could make for a great Robin, though Wittrock will need to adjust the ratio from the deeply unpleasant Tristan. His bumpkin role as Jether probably won’t be of much value, except to show his range and commitment to his parts.
After bit part roles in La La Land and The Big Short, the time is right for Wittrock to make another step up.
