The Batman: 10 Perfect Casting Choices For Robin
4. Dan DeHaan
Dan DeHaan may feel like his ship has sailed slightly, but he’s still got a couple of years to grab onto a lifeline before he’s doomed to the B-list forever.
DeHaan has had at least one shot already, as the lead role in Valerian. Despite the potential of the comic and its interesting and unique tone, that movie fell completely flat; considering DeHaan had absolutely zero chemistry with Cara Delevingne opposite him, he’s not entirely blameless.
He was, however, much better alongside Felicity Jones and Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, even if yet again that movie failed to deliver on its potential. As Harry Osborne, he was much creepier than James Franco’s crack at the character, and much more compelling.
Robin, whichever version of the character you pick, is rarely creepy. Instead, he’s various degrees of curious, cocky and enthusiastic depending on which version Reeves opts for.
A more obsessive version of the character could certainly work though, and DeHaan can do overly inquisitive Robin perfectly. If Reeves feels like giving Dan DeHaan a shot in the last chance saloon, he could pull a surprise on everyone.
