The Batman: 10 Perfect Casting Choices For Robin

3. Dylan O’Brien

Like fellow Maze Runner star Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Dylan Thomas is one of those stars who seems like they can play the young role forever. He’s still only 26 though, so is a decent pick in between the youngest candidates and the older, more-likely-to-be-Nightwing potential cast members.

As well as The Maze Runner, his stint in Teen Wolf showcased his ability to thrive in large casts, something which will be crucial in Reeves’ The Batman. The movie will probably be a soft reboot in the style of Thor: Ragnarok, trimming away everything which hasn’t worked in the DCEU so far and streamlining it.

Either that or it’ll go full reboot and tear down everything to do with Batfleck to build something better. Either way, if Robin features they’ll need to mesh well with everyone; something O’Brien is definitely capable of.

He’s been spreading his wings recently too, so The Batman may be arriving at the right time. American Assassin wasn’t great, but it did at least highlight his ability to lead a movie. Bumblebee on the other hand was a surprise hit, bucking the trend of terrible Transformers movies, with O’Brien voicing the robot perfectly.
