The Batman: 10 Predictions For Where Matt Reeves Could Take The Franchise

5. A Confrontation With Joe Chill

The Batman Court Of Owls
DC Comics

It's clear that this Batman has some serious issues, and Reeves has made it clear that this Bruce Wayne is struggling to overcome his past and come to terms with the trauma of watching his parents get gunned down in front of him. For proof of that, look no further than the fact he appears to be wearing the remains of the gun that killed them on his chest!

It's hard to believe the hero will simply move on from that by the time a sequel is released, and if Reeves is intent on exploring what Bruce's childhood trauma means to him as a "superhero," then a confrontation with the man responsible for killing them is surely just a matter of time.

With the emphasis on this Batman being the World's Greatest Detective, it could be that while he recovered the gun that killed Thomas and Martha Wayne, he's still looking for who pulled the trigger, and the emotion that would be on screen when Batman finally confronts Joe Chill (assuming he's still the killer in this iteration) would be palpable.

Josh Wilding hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
