7. A Good Villain

“The hero is only as good as his villain” - this statement is one hundred percent true.

Over the years, Batman has accumulated a plethora of enemies, like Joker or Mr Freeze, but it would be nice to see something a bit different for once. The Joker especially has a habit of being overused in Bat-media, and the most recent incarnation of the character has already proven that it cannot compare to Heath Ledger or Jack Nicholson’s earlier portrayals of the character, so why not have Batman face off against a completely different opponent?

Introducing a villain new to cinema audiences, such as Hugo Strange, to fill the role of antagonist would, if done well, bring a welcome challenge to the Dark Knight and redefine audiences’ expectations of what a Batman villain really can be.
