The Batman: Dream Casting Matt Reeves' Trilogy

1. The Joker - Rhys Wakefield

Mr Freeze
Universal Pictures

A perfectly casted Joker is like a perfectly cooked steak; everyone's got a preference.

In the last decade, there have been multiple iterations of the Clown Prince of Crime with different mannerisms, personalities and even maniacal codes of ethics. In each performance of the Joker there lies a unique idea for what Batman's arch-nemesis would play in the story- or on their own if we're looking at last year's standalone film.

The right casting for Joker would all depend on the environment in which it is set. As of now there has been no trailer that sets the tone for what Matt Reeves' Batman Trilogy will be like, but should the main performers be a lot younger than their comic-book counterparts, the ideal casting would be a much greener Joker who is discovering themself in Batman's rising.

Rhys Wakefield will probably best be remembered as the "Polite Leader" in the very first Purge Movie. You know him as the faux-articulate, thin-faced menace who torments Ethan Hawke.

While he may not have made appearances in many other mainstream films, he is still a working actor and bares the wide and chilling grin that would work for a young and animated Joker.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
