The Batman: Dream Casting Matt Reeves' Trilogy

2. Mister Freeze - Sir Ben Kingsley

Mr Freeze
Paramount Pictures

The last time we saw a mainstream Mister Freeze on screens it was a diabolical representation of a very serious and tragic character.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a cinematic treasure, but given the pathos of the character, it was very difficult to take the *chilling* villain seriously when every other sentence uttered was a groan-inducing snow pun.

If Mister Freeze were to be introduced, it would do the character justice if he were the main villain of the film. His back story and earnest hope of curing his dying wife would add tense melodrama to the film, and with that tragedy there needs to be an actor who can evoke those emotions.

Sir Ben Kingsley already dabbled in superhero films as the fake-Mandarin in Iron Man 3. Before the veil was lifted, and Trevor Slattery was revealed to be a comedic performance, the low droning tones of the fake-Mandarin were downright scary.

Aside from being a good age to play a mature Mister Freeze battling a young Batman, Ben Kingsley also bares a physical appearance. Should he take up the cold-suit of Mister Freeze, ask him to bring his voice and mannerisms from Iron Man 3 and he would be golden.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
