The Batman: Dream Casting Matt Reeves' Trilogy
6. Jervis Tetch AKA The Mad Hatter - Kevin Sussman
The Mad Hatter is an odd villain for Batman. On the one hand, he's a maniacal genius with the ability to control minds. On the other, he's a creepy, weird little man who would get floored in a fist fight with Scarface (even without the Ventriloquist).
But supposed Matt Reeves' keeps his films grounded in reality, and takes a peak at the homicidal, red-pilled version of The Mad Hatter.
Video games and cartoons did the character justice before, and a Mad Hatter whose grand plan is kidnapping or enslaving might be a change of pace from a bad guy with a bomb.
Who could play The Mad Hatter? In the nicest way possible, Kevin Sussman (Stuart from The Big Bang Theory) would make a great Mad Hatter. An actor who not only physically embodies what a young Mad Hatter would look like, but can carry the sad-sack, loser in love approach brilliantly.
The TV series Gotham introduced The Mad Hatter, but he came off physically and verbally more like a handsome magician than a sexist stalker. The Mad Hatter is a compelling villain, and needs who can be mopey and sinister at the same time.
Kevin, no disrespect, but you're the guy.
