The Batman: Dream Casting Matt Reeves' Trilogy
5. Barbara Gordon AKA Batgirl - Logan Browning
The version of Batman canon you're most familiar with can play into what Batgirl represents in your mind's eye. Would she be the young apprentice to Batman, or a mature love interest for The Dark Knight?
I'd like to think the development of Batgirl has moved beyond simply being another one of Bruce Wayne's students. Matt Reeves has already superseded expectations with his casting choices, it would make sense to continue for future films.
Given the exciting casting choice of Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, the daughter of said police chief could open the floor to a more diverse choice of Barbara Gordon too.
Logan Browning is probably more recognised today as Samantha White in the Netflix series adaptation of Dear White People.
Throughout the series Logan has displayed a broad range of emotions, that with the right writing could be harnessed and folded into the role of the aspiring vigilante. Logan isn't a stranger to thrillers, as seen in the Netflix' film The Perfection.
Casting Logan as Barbara Gordon opens up a number of exciting opportunities for the character; none more so than finally getting a Batgirl spin-off film helmed by a rising star in entertainment.
