The Batman: Dream Casting Matt Reeves' Trilogy
4. Pamela Isley AKA Poison Ivy - Alexandra Breckenridge
It's not fair to throw vitriol at Joel Schumacher over what happened with Batman & Robin. His stylistic choice was a conscious one, that did enrage fans and embarrass the cast, but in order to learn from mistakes, they must be made first.
That being said, Uma Thurman's portrayal of Poison Ivy might have done long-lasting damage to how mainstream audiences view the character. Poison Ivy is legitimately one of Batman's greatest villains, given the array of powers she possesses and the fanatical viewpoints she has on the world.
While many of Batman's enemies are gangsters or themed serial killers; Poison Ivy is an eco-terrorist who in her mind is fighting for good. A proper representation of the character would be someone audiences can sympathise with.
Casting Pamela Isley might seem easy from the outset, but finding an actress who can be both alluring and quietly sinister leans into the realm of what Poison Ivy represents. Alexandra Breckenridge showed all of this as Moira the maid in American Horror Story.
With a brief role in The Walking Dead, and recurring in This Is Us, Alexandra is showing a diverse range of acting that would slide into the role of Poison Ivy with ease.
