The Batman Trailer Review: 7 Ups & 1 Down

1. Robert Pattinson Is Already Captivating

The Batman Robert Pattinson
Warner Bros.

Pattinson not only looks the part, he owns the part. A bold statement to make after so little time? Perhaps, but in the small amount of footage we've seen thus far, he offers up a convincingly larger-than-life presence as The Dark Knight, capturing both Bruce Wayne's emotionally unstable (and slightly Emo) personality and Batman's fear-inducing persona with a single look.

The actor had his critics when he was cast (with some bafflingly finding it hard to get over the fact that he starred in Twilight over a decade ago), but the truth is that he's been silencing critics for years with his award-worthy performances. By the looks of the trailer, The Batman will be the latest example of that.

He's already captivating in a two-minute clip. Can you imagine what he'll do with a full film?
