The Best Moment Of Every James Bond Film - Ranked
5. On Her Majesty's Secret Service: Tracy's Death
This one is one of the most emotional scenes in any Bond film. The shocking murder of Tracy Bond (Diana Rigg) just hours after she and Bond are married is still every bit as devastating and upsetting today as it was before.
As well as this, although George Lazenby's performance as Bond was pretty weak overall, he's actually very solid in this scene and handles this emotional moment very well. All in all, it's a bruising conclusion to this excellent instalment in the series and definitely its best scene, although the earlier snow action scenes are fabulous too.
It would be higher if it didn't also feel like a bit of a missed opportunity. The death of Tracy Bond was never called back to as often as it should've been and Diamonds are Forever, the atrocious next film in the series, doesn't even mention her once. On Her Majesty's Secret Service did a near-perfect job with its ending, but the subsequent films blunted its impact a little.
