17. Easter Egg: Mark Stambler & The Newscaster

A two-for-one Easter egg emerges when the author of a book called "The Cloverfield Paradox" is shown talking to a news reporter about the potential for the particle accelerator (aka the Shepard) to cause a catastrophe on Earth.

Note that the man's name is Mark Stambler, sharing the same surname as Howard Stambler (John Goodman) from 10 Cloverfield Lane. He appeared in the alternate reality game leading up to this movie's release, and most fans seemed to deduce that he must be Howard's brother.

The other connection is a far more tangible link to the previous film in the series. The newscaster on the left of the screen is played by Suzanne Cryer, who also played the woman trapped outside of Howard's shelter in 10 Cloverfield Lane.

Though she's not formally credited with a name in either film, this was obviously intentional, even if the slippery logic of these movies makes it impossible to figure out exactly what her recurring appearance is supposed to mean.
