3. What It Means To Cloverfield And 10 Cloverfield Lane

Here's the real killer question: how does the rift created in The Cloverfield Paradox impact the first two movies?

The simple answer is that rather than the monster from the first movie being a product of deep-sea oil drilling waking it, the rift opened in the near future of the Cloverfield Paradox dimension opened a portal between the Cloverfield dimension and the realm that is the home to those monsters.

The same goes for 10 Cloverfield Lane - again, a different dimension to the Cloverfield universe - into which a portal is opened from wherever the aliens who terrorise Earth hail. They're essentially different dimensions tied together by the rifts created in the future, and potentially linked to many other dimensions with endless possibilities for storylines.

That would seemingly include more supernatural elements, though what they will translate to in Overlord remains to be seen.
