7. A Pay Off To "The Annie Of It All"
The last entry discussed Jeff and Annie playing tonsil tennis, so why not continue down that rabbit hole? In for a penny in for a pound!
Romance is something every sitcom dabbles in. But not every show has a Ross & Rachel (or, in this author's opinion, the way better Monica & Chandler). Unfortunately for Community, it never managed to strike gold with its romances, with Jeff & Britta, Troy & Britta, Abed & Rachel and plenty more failing to settle down.
However, although none of the show's romances were ever fully realised, there was one that had a soft spot in viewers' hearts and seemed to have the most potential, and that was Annie & Jeff.
They had great chemistry, went through a lot together and seemed to be heading somewhere at times. Still, the show never fully committed to them, choosing to end with the touching moment between the two where they share a goodbye kiss in the final episode.
This was a fitting end, but now that the story is heating up again, something needs to be done about the "Annie-of-it-all". That doesn't necessarily imply that they need to get together, but it should still deliver a significant pay-off to the subtle romance.
