The Commuter Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

1. It Knows Exactly What It Is...And Delivers Accordingly

Above all else, this is a totally unpretentious, balls-to-the-wall movie that knows exactly what it is, what its audience expects and delivers all that and more.

If you enjoyed Unknown and Non-Stop in particular, it's hard to imagine you not having fun with this, which traces along similar lines while never daring to take itself too seriously or suggest it's anything more than a dumb thriller starring one of cinema's coolest 65-year-olds.

If you go into this hoping for a smart, classy, grounded thriller, you're going to have a bad time, and should probably stay well away. Instead, bring a few pals, maybe have a few drinks beforehand, and just soak in the giddily bonkers B-movie madness.
