The Commuter Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

5. The Central Mystery Is Fun & Intriguing

Much like Neeson's previous mystery thrillers Unknown and Non-Stop, the fun of this film is watching the absurd mystery slowly unravel, with a pile of red herrings, daft reveals and, of course, a wildly overblown climax.

The Commuter certainly delivers all of that, and while the film loses a little rewatch value because most of the reveals aren't spelled out with clever clues ahead of time, it's still a fun rollercoaster ride seeing where Neeson's commute from hell goes.

From the exact nature of Farmiga's character to the identity of the person MacCauley is searching for and everything in-between, it serves up plenty of enticing questions to keep that tight 104 minute run-time neatly chugging along (pardon the pun).
