The Dark Knight Rises: 10 Neglected Plot Lines That Should Have Been Developed

1. Bane Is The Son Of Ra's Al Ghul

the dark knight rises bane When I first saw this movie I was really interested in the idea that Bane -a character that is in many ways related to Ra's al Ghul in the comics- was the son of Ra's al Ghul. This would've been a pretty cool twist in the film and it wouldn't have needed the extra character that Talia al Ghul was in this movie. When you think about it they could've achieved the same thing and the movie would be no different if she was out of the whole thing. This isn't the kind of idea that would've pissed off the fans since it's the kind of changes we're used to in Christopher Nolan's Batman universe. And the idea of Bane as the dishonored excommunicated son of Ra's al Ghul wanting to triumph where his father failed would've made for a much more interesting development for Bane. I mean, just think about it. It would've spared us from watching Miranda Tate's terrible death scene, it would've spared us from the awful way Bane was cut off from the movie like another cheap lackey and it would've made the movie shorter, leaving more time for character development or at least a longer climax. But no, he decided to add Talia al Ghul to the mix and turn Bane from the main villain of the film, to the main lackey of it. He was this generation's Bob, so much room for opportunities and not even one of them was used to the max. At least he wasn't as bad as he was in Batman & Robin, so I'll give the movie credit for that.
