The Dark Knight Rises: 10 Neglected Plot Lines That Should Have Been Developed

7. Batman Without His Gadgets

CA.0711.dark.knight.rises. One of the arguments that always pops up whenever 2 people discuss whose the best superhero is that you can take away Batman's gadgets, money and friends and he could still be a badass superhero capable of bringing down even the most dangerous criminal. This is something that we've seen many times in the comics (a small example is shown in Batman R.I.P.) however it hasn't been fully explored in the movies yet. It had so many opportunities to show Batman using all of his intellect and experience to find a way into Gotham or a way to deactivate the nuclear reactor, yet the only thing they showcased was that Batman had some pretty cool gadgets again. Sure it's really nice and awesome to see Batman in all of his bat-glory but c'mon, it would've been much more interesting. The funny thing is that the plot point of taking away all the things that defines a superhero was been explored in a film in a much better way, and what makes it even funnier is that it was explored on the superhero you'd least expect it. ironman3 That's right, in Iron Man 3 Tony Stark behaved much more like Batman than Batman in his own film. They took away his money, his suit, his gadgets and he had to improvise a way to fight Killian's minions, as well as how to infiltrate his mansion. Hell the closing line of the movie is the line pretty much everyone uses when they're trying to prove that Batman is better than Iron Man, how Iron-ic. We're still yet to see Batman doing this sort of thing in one of his films. I was expecting to see Batman improvising his way into Gotham, fighting against some of Bane's thugs and even facing him with an improvised plan. But no, we just saw him recovering his old suit and balancing the final battle using a brand new Batwing.
