The Dark Knight Rises: 10 Neglected Plot Lines That Should Have Been Developed

6. Life Inside Bane's Gotham

The Dark Knight Rises At this point we can all agree that The Dark Knight Rises should've been either much longer, or a two-parter. I mean, how cool would've been that the first movie ended with the cliffhanger of Bruce's back broken and thrown in the pit, with Bane in Gotham and the city at his control? This would've not only allowed for a much better character development, but it would've also allowed us to explore much more things that the film didn't show. For example: how the people in Gotham survived and lived during Bane's insurrection. I think it's fair to assume that not everyone was excited about Bane releasing all of Gotham's prisoners, killing the mayor and telling them that everyone can do whatever the hell they wanted and there would be no consequences. It would've been interesting to see people adapting to that big change, to see the beginning of Gordon's resistance as well as how the contact with the government began. And most importantly, to see all those civilized people eating each other.
