The Dark Knight Rises: 5 Reasons Why It's Better Second Time Around

3. Confirmed That Some Questionable Scenes Were Indeed Bad

Going in the first time, I was adamant on thinking the film was going to be flawless no matter what I truly thought of it. With that matter in mind, there were some scenes that I questioned, but shrugged off as me not understanding or giving it a chance - that and my belief that Nolan could do no wrong. I know now that these scenes weren't just questionable, they were actually bad and useless. I was no longer giving the film the benefit of the doubt, I was watching it knowing that the movie was great so I could give a proper critique. Take for instance Bruce and Miranda's random love affair. What was the point? Trust? They already had that. Watching it the first time, I told myself it was needed and all for effect, but after the second time, I came to realize that this scene was definitely a mistake. Others included John Blake's whole bus fiasco - I know they needed him to do something, Gordon's sad and forgotten attempt at defending himself, the whole character of Selina's friend, and to some extent, Selina stealing Bruce's car.
