The Dark Knight Rises Sequel: 10 Things Warner Bros Must Get Right

10. More Gotham Central

The Dark Knight did something I had been wishing all the previous Batman movies had €“ and that was introduce Gotham Central €“ i.e. the wider unit of the Gotham Police Department, the team that Jim Gordon is in control of. In The Dark Knight they gave us the corrupt Det. Wuertz, the turncoat Det. Ramirez and the tough Det. Stephens, the one cop who Gordon can trust. We really wanted to see this expanded in The Dark Knight Rises but none of these characters were included. Wuertz of course was killed by Harvey Dent in the last movie but Stephens survived and made enough of an impression that he should have returned. Keith Szarabajka did a great job playing him that it was a shame Nolan decided not to bring him back. The next Batman movie should definitely look to bringing in Stephens AND introduce other characters of the GPD. The likes of Detective Montoya, an ambitious female cop who wants to take Gordon's job as he nears retirement, and perhaps Detective Bullock who has questionable methods but gets results. Gotham Central is a part of the Batman universe and the new director would be wise to incorporate their elements. So there you have it folks, our 10 Things Warner Must Get Right and include in the inevitable sequel to The Dark Knight Rises. We would love to hear your thoughts on our picks in the comment section below.
