One of the staples of Bruce Wayne's training by the League of Shadows in Batman Begins that was revisited in The Dark Knight Rises was that deception and theatricality are powerful agents. While the story and screenplay were the foundation of The Dark Knight Trilogy, deception and theatricality would prove necessary for bringing the larger than life story to the screen. Warner Bros. hired some of the best effects specialists in the world, and the one thing Christopher Nolan demanded of all them was that as much be shot in-camera as humanly possible. He also mandated that every vehicle, gadget, and invention in the films be based on realistic, military-inspired weaponry. Through of a combination of in-camera, special, CGI, audio, stunt, and pyrotechnic effects, The Dark Knight Trilogy boasted some of the most impressive visuals in modern history.
