The Dark Knight Trilogy: 10 Villains Chris Nolan Would Have Nailed Perfectly

7. Killer Croc

killer croc After all the talk of realism, Killer Croc may seem like a bit of a push for inclusion in not only this list, but in Nolan's Dark Knight universe too. However, Bane was humanised and believable in The Dark Knight Rises and he could have been seen as an unrealistic departure before its release, with his addiction to Venom, which also gave him his superhuman strength. Killer Croc could have worked in much the same way, perhaps being an incredibly physical presence with extreme strength, built up purely from years of training, but keeping the essence of the character that saw him born with an extreme form of Epidermolytic Hyperkeratosis, which would explain his skin becoming scaly, leading him to adopt his villainous moniker. Killer Croc is actually referenced in The Dark Knight Rises though, with John Blake mentioning that he was asked if he had seen any giant crocodiles down in the sewers, something which immediately makes every fans think of Killer Croc, Nolan's way of including a character that he felt just wasn't realistic enough to include in his series. There is also an issue with including Killer Croc in the same series as Bane anyway, even if they had both appeared in separate films, they were both very physical villains, something which was very new to Bruce when he fought Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. If he had already fought off Killer Croc it is unlikely he would have been so worried when coming up against Bane. But still, if Christopher Nolan really had found a way to make it work, there is no question that Killer Croc would have been an original and spectacular villain for the live action Batman films.
