The Death Of Superman Review: 5 Ups & 6 Downs

5. Batman's Suitably Small Role
One of the most common complaints about DC's animated movies is that Batman's presence is shoehorned into stories where he doesn't belong, if only because his presence can be a major marketing plus to an otherwise risky or more niche project.
Thankfully, though the Caped Crusader (Jason O'Mara) most certainly does appear in this film, his role is kept to a politely acceptable minimum, largely being held back in the periphery and allowing the title character to take centre stage.
This way, the Dark Knight's intermittent scenes don't invite groans at him hogging the spotlight, but are instead entertaining asides that actually add something to the film.
