The "F" Word: The All-Time Profanity List

2. F#@k

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl9WWk431h0 This 2005 documentary about the usage of the F-Word in modern English language is prominent on the list for many reasons. Firstly, the 90 minute doc delves deep into the word, speaking with several of popular culture's most celebrated linguists who have gained much notoriety for using it, among them Bill Maher, Billy Connolly, Kevin Smith and Hunter S. Thompson. Through various archival clips the film shows how the word has been treated in the media, with all the controversial incidents that have occurred, and of course, Lenny Bruce's meditation on the word as well as George Carlin's famous thesis on the subject "The Seven Dirty Words You Can't Say On Television". One of the biggest standpoints in this documentary is the fact that the F-Word and its derivatives are said a record 824 times, ironically making it the most profane movie of all-time. The documentary itself allows all of the interviewees to share their thoughts on the word, as well as allow them a platform to best use it in a sentence with some interesting results.
