The Hunger Games: 10 Massive Spoilers For The Final Two Movies

3. President Snow Still Wins

Following Katniss' murder of new leader Coin, President Snow is found dead - apparently killed in the chaotic melee that followed Katniss' betrayal. Despite shuffling off this mortal coil, though, things didn't end at all badly for Snow. He fulfilled his role as master manipulator right up until the very end of his existence. After the Capitol falls and Snow is taken prisoner by the rebel forces, Katniss visits him in his rose garden where he is being held. Snow claims that he wasn't responsible for the final cowardly attack from the Capitol side of the war, blaming Coin and her army for the tragedy - of which we will hear more later - that brought the battle to an end. Whether or not Snow was telling the truth, he managed to convince Katniss enough that she turned her back on the new regime that she had helped to usher in. When she looks into Snow's eyes before the execution, all she sees is amusement and wry satisfaction. Whatever happened to him, in his mind he had achieved everything he wanted.
