The Joker Reveal: Reactions To Joaquin Phoenix's Killer Clown

7. Oozing With Confidence... Creepy As Hell

While the words 'Joker Origin Movie' aren't worth getting excited about, the words 'Joaquin Phoenix's Joker' certainly are, so there was already a reason to be intrigued, if not excited, by the prospect of this movie.

The reveal of him in costume, and subsequent set photos and video, ramp the hype levels all the way up. From the look of him as Arthur Fleck, a man who so obviously screams psycho that he's almost more terrifying than the Joker himself, to that reveal of him in full John Wayne Gacy-esque makeup, right up to him stepping off the subway and having an absolute ball, this is a take on the Clown Prince of Crime unlike any we've seen before.

Of course, different doesn't automatically mean good - see: Jared Leto - but this reveal is oozing with confidence without trying too hard, it's creepy as hell, and if nothing else suggests they've nailed the King of Comedy-esque tone.
