The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen Remake: 13 Actors Who Should Be Cast
6. Jeremy Irons - The Invisible Man
A legitimate bad guy, Hawley Griffin was an amalgam of the original The Invisible Man and Edwardian murderer Dr Hawley Crippin and is far more than the gentleman thief he became in the original movie adaptation.
He's another wildcard - included in the League mostly because of his unique powers - and that sort of dynamic will be key to adding different levels of complexity within the group. Particularly if Fox do choose to borrow the spirit of Suicide Squad (assuming that film does well).
Who Should Play Him?
The thing that matters most for The Invisible Man is his voice and a certain type of creepy aura that fits his backstory as a lunatic and murderer, but with enough charisma and class to explain why the League would ever rely on him.
Tony Curran actually did well as the necessarily renamed version of the character in the first film (Rodney Skinner), but it would be better to have someone with the liquid gold vocals of Irons or James Spader if you want to cast similarly, to really give him some substance.
