The Lord Of The Rings: 10 Most Powerful Swords In Middle-Earth
7. Morgul Blade
Like Sting, this blade is technically a short sword or knife - as described in the books. Still, it deserves its place here, as the Morgul Blade is a terrifying weapon. Making it even scarier is the fact that Tolkien referenced it as a Morgul-Knife, implying that there may be more out there other than the one held by the Witch-King.
This terrifying creation was bred in Mordor - where else? - and was a weapon belonging to the Witch-King of Angmar. The blade's most notable moment came when it was thrust into Frodo during the attack on Weathertop, and its effects were disastrous.
Besides being a sharp object, this sword also has the distinct ability to poison those it jabs, even going so far as to convert its victims into Wraiths. The terrifying effects of this poison were shown clearly in The Fellowship of the Ring, as Frodo was brought to the brink of destruction thanks to the injury to his shoulder.
Even years after that incident, Frodo still felt the damage of the Mogul Blade, and thus, it's easily one of the scariest and most powerful swords in Middle-Earth.
