The Lord Of The Rings: 10 Most Powerful Swords In Middle-Earth
6. Orcrist
When you hear of a weapon called Goblin-Cleaver, you'd expect it to look like a hunk of heaping metal as opposed to a sword. Well, whatever you have to say about The Hobbit movie trilogy, at least everyone can agree that this sword's design perfectly aligns with its name. It's also one powerful item to boot.
This heaving sword was created by the Elves of Gondolin during the first age and was made alongside Glamdring (don't worry, that one will come later). However, viewers got to see it best once it fell into the hands of the legendary Dwarven King, Thorin Oakenshield. He certainly put it to good use, slicing through enemies like they were nothing but butter.
The sword was described as having killed hundreds of Goblins in its prime, and you can see that in how the Goblin King reacts upon finding it. He and his crew are petrified of the blade, so it's safe to say its reputation precedes it.
Orcrist also shared the ability to glow whenever orcs were nearby, so everything applied in the Sting entry also counts here.
