The Lord Of The Rings: 10 Most Powerful Swords In Middle-Earth
4. Narsil
This was the sword that shone with the light of the sun and the moon. However, most viewers/readers have a particular picture when they think of the legendary blade. That of a broken sword, signifying a fractured line of kings. Still, while the series shows the blade after its glory days, its history cannot be denied.
Narsil was forged in the very first age at the hands of the famed Dwarven smith Telchar - considered to be one of the greatest in Middle-Earth's lengthy history. It eventually became the legendary weapon of the mighty King Elendil, meaning this sword had a heap of historical significance. Throughout its life, it was a symbol of the Kingship of Anor and Gondor.
After being broken during the War of the Last Alliance, the blade performed its mightiest deed, being taken up by Isildur and used to cut the One Ring off of Sauron. It comes as a testament to the power of this sword that even in shatters, it still severed the hand of the Dark Lord.
From there, the Shards of Narsil became a powerful heirloom, ever bathed in the glory of its past.
