The Lord Of The Rings: 11 Dumb Moments Everyone Ignores

2. All Three Films: Everybody Dies, But Not Really

Let€™s count the ways that everyone nearly dies, but is resurrected later: Frodo is stabbed on Weathertop by a Morgul blade, but is revived in Rivendell by the grace of Lord Elrond. Gandalf the Gray falls into the chasm with the Balrog, fights with it for many days and nights, then died after defeating it. But then he€™s brought back to life as Gandalf the White. Pippen and Merry are about to get stabbed by the goblin who wants to eat them, but manage to escape being trampled by the Rohirrim attacking the Uruk-hai camp by fleeing into Fangorn Forest. The goblin follows them into the forest, but is stomped upon by Treebeard, who threatens to kill them himself until the White Wizard vouches for them. Aragorn falls off a cliff while fighting a Warg rider. Everyone assumes he€™s dead, including a teary-eyed Gimli, who breaks the news to Eowyn. But Brego the horse finds him at the riverside and manages to get him to Helm€™s Deep. Aragorn gets knocked out during the Battle of Helm€™s Deep, but manages to wake up just before the Uruk-hai storm the breach in the wall. Anyone check him for a concussion? Faramir is badly injured and is dragged back to Minas Tirith, where Denethor decides that the two of them should burn as the kings of old did. Pippen manages to save him with the help of Gandalf, who leaves the battle to do so. Eowyn takes out the Witch King, but the battle leaves her unconscious and near death. Aragorn returns and performs some water rag magic and she recovers. Pippen seeks out Merry on the Fields of Pelennor, where he has fallen under an Orc. Shelob takes out Frodo and wraps him up in her webbing. Sam assumes that Frodo is dead, but finds out that Shelob€™s sting has only paralyzed him. So now he has to rescue him from Sauron€™s orcs and goblins who have taken him prisoner. During the struggle for the Ring, Gollum and Frodo fall off the cliff into the heart of Mount Doom. Gollum falls into the pit of lava, but isn€™t instantly incinerated. Sam rushes to the edge of the cliff and pulls Frodo up, and the two of them race out to escape the lava. Sam and Frodo find an island that the lava does not overtake and lie down to die, their mission finished. But Gandalf and the eagles come to rescue them and take them back to Minas Tirith.
