The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Trailer Breakdown: 25 Things You Need To See
18. That Title Card
In fact, alongside that smash cut to 1963 in flashing black-and-red letters, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. trailer does a damn good job at exposition through visual storytelling. Within about ten seconds on screen they've managed to convey the end of the Second World War, the breaking up of powers in Germany and what happened after with a few graphics. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is going to be a super stylish film. It's not quite Saul Bass, but it's still pretty neat that the visual style is going to stretch even to the title cards and the like. It's also cool they're not patronising the audience, refreshing their historical knowledge with a couple of images.
