The Matrix Resurrections: 10 Questions We Have From The Trailer

Near the start of the trailer we see a number of brief, enigmatic clips flashing by, one of which is an unseen figure snapping their fingers, while wearing a leather jacket and sporting a distinctive ring.

This character could be anyone, but there's a feeling that it might be the Merovingian (Lambert Wilson), the smug rogue Matrix program who appeared in the two previous sequels.

It's already been confirmed that Wilson will indeed reprise his role as "Merv," and the character did wear a similar-looking ring and outfit in the previous films, so he's surely the most likely candidate for playing the part.

We can see an out-of-focus Neo in the background, so perhaps he will have to come to the Merovingian to broker a deal - maybe in order to be reunited with Trinity.
