14. The Synthients AKA Machine Allies
The major beneficial outcome of Neo's sacrifice was actually helping ease relations between humans and the Machines, as Neo is shocked to discover that Bugs even has benevolent Machines onboard her hovercraft, the Mnemosyne.
Bugs explains that the Sentinels actually prefer to be called "Synthients," and introduces Neo to the three aboard their ship, Cybebe, Octacles, and Lumin8.
She adds that Neo's trip to the Synthient City in Revolutions had a major impact on the Synthients, and eroded notions of "sides" between the two species.
This is easily one of the most interesting ideas Resurrections posits, eroding the us vs. them binarity of the original trilogy while ensuring Neo's "death" at the end of Revolutions had a long-lasting impact despite the new threats. Clever.
