The Matrix Resurrections: 25 WTF Moments

4. The INSANE Swarm Chase

The Matrix Resurrections

Really the only set-piece in the movie that truly hits into a high and exciting gear is the final chase sequence where the Analyst's never-ending swarm pursues Neo and Trinity.

The pair attempt to escape on Trin's motorcycle, while Neo uses his abilities to fling people and cars alike out of the way.

There are some inspired moments in the nutty sequence, such as citizens being mind-controlled to basically act as suicide bombers that hurl themselves out of windows at the heroes, and Neo redirecting rockets fired at him by a chopper.

It's a damn shame nothing else in the film gets close to this level of heightened absurdity. The gunfights and punch-ups feels so stock and ordinary, sadly.
