Legendary composer Jerry Goldsmith provided the score for 1999's movie, and it has endured as something of a fan favourite over the years, with its memorable main theme and agreeably over-the-top nature emphasising the bonkers adventure movie tone. If you don't love "Night Boarders", there's something wrong with you.

Frequent Marvel composer Brian Tyler meanwhile provided the score for the new film, and as well as lacking a distinctive theme, it just doesn't evoke the same sense of fun. That's not to call it bad, but just not at all memorable.

Winner: Nostalgia is probably influencing this one somewhat, but is it really much surprising if Goldsmith, an 18-time Oscar nominee (and one-time winner) really did better work than, well, just about anyone?
