The Predator: 7 Big Questions We’re Left With

1. Is The Predator Killer Suit Enough To Warrant A Sequel?

The ending of The Predator was undoubtedly one of its more divisive moments. The idea that the fugitive Predator had given humanity a way of defeating unwelcome Yautja invaders was actually really intriguing. However, badass as it was, the reveal that the "Predator Killer" was nothing more than a robotic-like Predator suit for humans was a little worrying. The visual was a sight to behold, definitely worthy of closing out the film, but it doesn't exactly set up an exciting sequel.

The reason that the first two films worked so well was down to the intimidation factor. The Predators stalked their prey, slowly picking off each and every one of the protagonist's friends before a final showdown. It was never about the battle but merely the unnerving journey to getting there and most importantly, surviving. With that in mind, it's easy to see why the idea of Predator vs. Robot Predator doesn't sound like an appealing sequel.

If humanity utilises the Predator Killer, the playing field is level. The Predator doesn't have any advantages and thus, the sequel would potentially rely solely on action-packed showdowns and large-scale explosions - which is too far removed from what the franchise is about.

The Predator did set up some interesting plot threads that could make for an intriguing sequel, so in many ways, it does deserve the chance to show them. But if it is awarded that opportunity, it would be better for Black to steer clear from a Predator-bot.
