3. It's Set During Halloween (Not Christmas)

Perhaps the biggest surprise in the entire trailer is that this is a rarest of Shane Black movies not set during Christmas. The director famously loves to set his films during the holiday season regardless of when they're released, and it's got to the point where it seems like a bit of a cliche these days.

The Predator sees Black toying with expectations a little, then, by shifting the setting to Halloween, which honestly feels like a much better fit for the franchise.

Of course, it would've made sense for the movie to also release around Halloween rather than mid-September, but Fox presumably can't risk the new Halloween sequel taking a bite out of their box office.
