The Predator Trailer 2: 9 Things You Might Have Missed

5. The Gauntlet

In the very first trailer for The Predator, audiences got a look at Jacob Tremblay opening a package sent to the house. Within said package, was a gauntlet of some sort and when Tremblay activated it, it looked to serve as a homing beacon for a Predator ship.

And while the new trailer doesn't return to this specific scene, it does give us a few more extended looks at the gauntlet itself. First up, at the 1:23 mark, it can be seen on the arm of a Predator. This is most likely a shot from late in the film after they have either reclaimed the gauntlet or are simply using another one, as the shot is POV and seems to be from someone hiding from the Predator as it storms towards them. But what it does confirm is that it is a Yautja gauntlet that controls this ship.

Then, at the 1:24 mark, right after that shot, it can be seen at the bottom of the frame, on Tremblay's arm. At the 1:49 mark, it can be seen on Holbrook's arm as he shoots at a Predator.

So what does all of this mean?

The shot at 1:49 of Holbrook having it on looks to be from the early sequence where he and his team discover the Predator's mask so smart money would be on Holbrook discovering it then, stealing it and sending it home, where Tremblay opens it and plays with it, before it somehow gets attached to Tremblay's arm for the bulk of the film, leading to a whole lot of Predators being very eager to separate it from him.
