The Single Biggest Mistake Each Fast & Furious Film Has Made
4. Furious 7 - Not Enough Dwayne Johnson
Furious 7 is great. It's another dazzling combination of sharp humour, charismatic characters and joyous, high-octane and beautifully-crafted action sequences that delivers white-knuckle thrills galore and does all of these beloved characters justice, but Furious 7 goes further than that.
It's... really touching, which is something few could've ever expected from this franchise. The film ends with a beautiful tribute to the late Paul Walker and the Dom and Letty story-line is seriously well-done here.
In terms of issues, the main one is that Dwayne Johnson is outrageously under-used. He spends most of the film recovering from a fight in hospital and only shows up again during the film's fantastic Los Angeles-set finale.
In fairness, this was probably due to scheduling conflicts, but it still sucked. After all, Luke Hobbs is arguably the best character in the whole franchise and Dwayne Johnson is completely brilliant in the part. Being punched in the face by Johnson would hurt less than the recent news that he won't be returning to the franchise.
He will be sorely missed.
