The Single Biggest Mistake Every James Bond Film Has Made

13. For Your Eyes Only: Bibi Dahl

The Man With The Golden Gun Ending
United Artists

For Your Eyes Only is divisive amongst the fan base, but seen by some as the franchise's best. It benefits from being far more grounded than the other Roger Moore films, while the plot, action sequences and characters are largely excellent too. Too bad it includes this ghastly comic relief character though.

Bibi Dahl (Lynn Holly-Johnson), who is a skilled young ice skater and the niece of the (slightly dull) main villain (Julian Glover), is a painfully irritating and badly played character who doesn't even affect the plot. What's particularly awful is the scene in which she tries to seduce Bond (who turns her down; even he draws the line here), which is truly awkward viewing. In particular, this exchange:

Bibi: Don't you like me?

Bond: Why, I think you're wonderful, Bibi... but I don't think your uncle Aris would approve.

Bibi: Him? He thinks I'm still a virgin.

Urgh!
