Starro may sound silly (I mean, he was defeated by garden products in his debut) but he's actually one of the most dangerous beings in existence. He can fly, lift hundreds of tons, regenerate, project illusions, and absorb energy.
However, it's Starro's psychic powers that makes him especially dangerous. In JLA Secret Files + Origins #1, he used telepathy to take over the entire world in 36 hours. Also, each host that Starro mind-controls gains amplified speed, strength, and durability, turning regular people into superhumans who can go toe-to-toe with Justice Leaguers.
In REBELS Annual #2, Starro mind-controlled the Kalanorian tyrant, Despero. Considering Despero is one of the most powerful psychics in the universe and has brainwashed the entire Justice League on multiple occasions, it is mind-boggling that Starro had little trouble manipulating the king of Kalanor's mind.
If you thought Starro could be defeated by shooting him or blowing him up, it's not that easy. As he proved in Justice League Europe #27, destroying the Mother Star doesn’t kill Starro since he can transfer his central mind into one of his mini-stars. Since there are countless star spores across the cosmos, taking Starro down for good is no easy task.
