The Suicide Squad: Everything You Need To Know About Starro

2. He Died

Starro The Suicide Squad
DC Comics

As Starro fought alongside Justice Leaguers against the Omega Titans, the Star Conqueror found a newfound respect for his former enemies. (He got chummy enough with Martian Manhunter to the point where he called him "Marty.")

When Superman and his crew learned the Wisdom Titan was preparing to annihilate Brainiac's homeworld, Colu, they tried to evacuate everyone off the planet immediately. When they realised there wasn't enough time to get the civilians off world Starro took it upon himself to stall Wisdom.

Using Atom's dwarf star technology, the mighty Mother Star launched itself at the Titan, attempting to control his mind. As formidable as Starro is, the Wisdom's power proved to be far greater. Pulling at Starro's limbs, the Titan ripped him to pieces, killing him.

Although Wisdom consumed Colu, Starro bought his comrades enough time to evacuate its people. Although most people assume Starro attacked the Titan head-on to turn him into his puppet, it's possible that spending time with the Justice Leaguers rubbed off him, encouraging Starro to play the good guy for once.

Even though Starro has been branded as one of the most malevolent forces in the cosmos, he died as a hero.
