The Suicide Squad: Ranking Every Death From Worst To Best

1. Rick Flag

The Suicide Squad Harley Quinn
Warner Bros.

As one of the four characters brought back from David Ayer’s version of the team in 2016, Rick Flag could be counted among the best things about that movie. In 2021 however, he was still able to grow and evolve into an even stronger character.

There was no ridiculous Enchantress arc for him to be tied to, instead he was simply the leader of the team out in the field, along side Bloodsport and Peacemaker. However, when it was revealed that Jotunheim, and Starro, were technically of American creation, he came to blows with John Cena's ruthless anti-hero.

Flag, as the nobility inside him crept up to the surface, wanted to expose the lab to the public, while Peacemaker was under strict orders to keep any such proof from leaving the island. Since John Cena’s character was so committed to keeping peace, something that couldn’t be achieved if these secrets were revealed, this was never going to end well for Flag.

The leader of the team died fighting for something he truly believed in. It was a cruelly brutal way for the character to bow out of the franchise, but was easily the most significant death in the entire movie.
