2. No One Will Hire Carrey For A Serious Role
No one is going to go see Jim Carrey in a Capra-esque movie. He isn't going to ever be in some existential, complicated film that questions humanity's place in the world, human experience, human life - none of that. Nothing except for the Truman Show, which will fail. This will set a precedent: Carrey's dramatic film career will be determined by this one film. They'll see he isn't marketable as a dramatic actor, which will force him to tell jokes out of his anus for the rest of his career. I don't think any of us will have a problem with that.
