3. Wolverine Losing His Powers Was Boring
Wolverine losing his powers should have made the game that much more dangerous, as now Logan would be vulnerable and have to watch his back, but Mangold oddly doesn't give Wolverine much of a chance to shine without his powers, instead shoving him into verbose dialogues with Mariko Yashida and not really making the mutant's plight particularly interesting. I want to see Logan struggling to kill the bad guys, and having to actually look out for himself, but that isn't really adequately conveyed during the set-pieces in the first act, even after Viper's potion has been administered. What's worse, though, is the means through which Logan gets his powers back. He discovers that a bug implant is constricting his heart and preventing him from regenerating, so what does Logan do? He cuts into his own stomach with his claws and removes the bug, which, given his near-mortal status at this point, is totally freaking ridiculous.
