The Worst Moment Of Every James Bond Film - Ranked

23. Goldfinger - Bond Doesn't Like The Beatles

The World Is Not Enough

While James Bond (Sean Connery) is rolling around in bed with Jill Masterson (Shirley Eaton), he goes to get a chilled bottle of champagne out of the fridge. He says the following as he goes:

"My dear girl, there are some things that just aren't done; such as drinking Dom Perignon '53 above the temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit. That's as bad as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs”.

How dare you, Bond. The Beatles are one of the greatest bands there will ever be and they are responsible for some of the best music in history. And before you say "The Beatles weren't so big in 1964", they'd already released three (mostly) excellent studio albums, so this line of dialogue is just dreadful.

OK, fine, this is being nit-picky. Still, with a film as fabulous and refined as Goldfinger, bad moments are hard to find and this is the only thing that really leaps out (aside from perhaps the infamous "Man talk" scene shortly before this one).

Nonetheless, Bond committed blasphemy here.
