The Worst Moment Of Every James Bond Film - Ranked

18. Dr No - The Car Chase

The World Is Not Enough
MGM

Dr No. the slow-paced but overall good first film in the series, is another Bond film that's fairly short on bad individual scenes, but one lingers in the mind as a major misfire.

That's this terrible mid-film car chase, which has not aged well in any form. The infamous "Fetch my shoes" line (which feels pretty racist when viewed now) and that rather silly dragon flamethrower truck are also bad moments, but due to how brief they are this car chase just about takes it as the film's worst scene.

Shot with abysmal forward-projection effects and far, far too short, this is a dull action scene and a thoroughly anticlimactic end for the Three Blind Mice, three potentially interesting henchmen who were ultimately under-used (they are in the car pursuing Bond, which then crashes over a cliff).

Still, Bond's post-kill one-liner after the car crash - "I think they were on their way to a funeral" - is a nice one and lifts this up a tiny bit.
